NEW SOUTH WALES ANNOUNCES NEW HIGH-TECH SYSTEM TO BOOST MONITORING AND COMPLIANCE
On Friday, December 1st 2017, New South Wales (NSW), Australia, announced that all NSW hotels and clubs with gaming machines will benefit from a new Centralised Monitoring System that begins operation from that date.
The new system, run by Liquor & Gaming NSW, connects all gaming machines in NSW and allows for real-time monitoring and data collection.
It also makes it easier for venues to maintain their regulatory obligations for operating gaming machines. Liquor & Gaming NSW’s executive director of regulatory operations, Susan Bray, said the system will also improve monitoring and integrity of gaming machine operations in NSW.
‘The system calculates taxes payable on gaming machine revenues and has high-tech functionality to detect potential issues with machine integrity as well as signs of money laundering and fraud,’ Ms Bray said. ‘It will enable Liquor & Gaming NSW to maintain the highest possible monitoring and compliance standards and ensure the integrity of gaming machine operations throughout NSW.
Ms Bray said Maxgaming Pty Ltd (MAX) was awarded the licence to deliver the new CMS for a 15-year period following a competitive tender process. Envoy Advanced Technologies Pty Ltd (Envoy) was retained to provide project management and technical advisory services. Venues, peak industry bodies, MAX and Envoy have all worked closely with Liquor & Gaming NSW to deliver the new CMS, and will continue to collaborate on further improvements
