Cleveland Allen is an Attorney-at-Law called to the Bar in Jamaica and Barbados. Cleveland has experience in litigation, commercial and gaming law. He joined the Casino Gaming Commission in 2014 as Legal Officer and Commission Secretary. During his tenure he was instrumental in providing the legal and corporate governance support for the development and implementation of the regulatory framework for the Commission. Cleveland subsequently joined the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission where he served as Senior Legal Officer.
In April 2022, Cleveland returned to the Casino Gaming Commission to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. As Chief Executive Officer, he has been mandated to ensure the Casino Gaming Commission’s readiness to regulate the casino gaming industry through the building out of the legal and operational framework of the Casino Gaming Commission. In addition to these core duties, Cleveland also provides legal and technical assistance in support of the ongoing merger of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission, the Casino Gaming Commission, and the Jamaica Racing Commission into a single entity to regulate the gaming and racing industries in Jamaica.
