FORMER CROWN STAFF ACCUSE THE CASINO OF TAMPERING WITH POKER MACHINES
ABC.net.au reports that James Packer’s Crown Casino in Melbourne has been hit with accusations of illegal conduct. Federal Member of Parliament Andrew Wilkie has used his parliamentary privilege to put the spotlight on three former staff of Crown Casino who claim the gambling giant regularly engaged in conduct ranging from tampering with poker machines, to turning a blind eye to drug use and domestic violence at the venue.
Crown is one of the most recognisable businesses in Australia. It employs tens of thousands of people and rakes in billions of dollars.
It has casinos in Macau, Perth and London. Its flagship casino is the Crown Complex in Melbourne, and this is the casino at the heart of the allegations.
Andrew Wilke believes these to be very serious allegations and consequently should be examined closely.
Marlene Kairouz, Victorian Gaming Minister, has asked the VCGR to look at all of the allegations that have been made.
