The masterclass will feature two moderated panel sessions:
- A broader view of regulation: Speaking with one voice to enhance industry reputation
How can an industry with a diverse range of product offerings present a unified vision to support balanced legal and regulatory development against a backdrop of:
- Products with widely varying risk profiles
- Multiple channels and routes to market
- An evolving consumer base
- Diverse cultural views of gambling globally
- Operators with global portfolios at different levels of maturity
2. Responsible advertising: Gambling, sport and media working together to head off greater restrictions
Is it possible to demonstrate that gambling advertising can be sustainable and socially responsible? Discussion points include:
- Collaborating with sport and media to spread positive messages
- Leveraging technology to ensure vulnerable groups and minors aren’t exposed to gambling ads
- Shifting from tokenistic approach to marketing messages that align with responsible gambling principles
- Developing self-regulatory advertising codes of practice through industry associations for long-term sustainability
- Lessons from other industries on avoiding sin taxes and other restrictions
