Peter Kesitilwe

Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe is the Chief Executive Officer of the Gambling Authority of Botswana, a state-owned enterprise tasked with the regulation of all gambling activities in Botswana through the Gambling Act of 2012.

Peter’s main role as CEO is to provide leadership in promoting the economic development of Botswana through a gambling sector-focused approach that is aligned with the strategy of Botswana Gambling Authority and Botswana’s national priorities, policies and strategies. His role focuses on ensuring optimal stakeholder engagement, strategy execution and organisational performance. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Botswana Gambling Authority.

Peter is a renowned international speaker, having been a panelist at the ICE VOX London 2023, where he formed part of the Africa perspective forum. At the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) Botswana Conference 2023, he presented on the Landscape of the Botswana Gambling Industry. At the International Gaming Conference 2023 in Lagos, Nigeria, Peter spoke on overcoming stigmatisation in gaming, the success story of Botswana. Peter is a member of the International Association of Gaming Regulators.

Peter is a corporate executive with strong business acumen leveraging over 20 years of experience working for large State-Owned Entities and Private Companies which have a presence in Botswana and the African region. He has over eight years of experience as an Executive within the gambling regulatory space. A Fellow Chartered Accountant (Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants), Chartered Management Accountant (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), as well as a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Strategic Business Management from the Manchester Metropolitan University.
