Moustapha Camara

Moustapha Camara is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of LONASE (Senegal National Lottery), bringing over 25 years of experience in the gaming and technology sectors. Under his leadership, LONASE is undergoing a strategic transformation focused on innovation, regulatory compliance, and transparency, with an emphasis on responsible gaming and modern revenue generation. In October 2025, Moustapha was appointed Chairman of the Steering Committee of CEOs of the African Lotteries and Gaming Association (ALGA). In this capacity, he plays a leading role in fostering collaboration among African lottery and gaming leaders, promoting responsible gaming, and driving harmonised regulatory standards across the continent.

His appointment reflects both his recognised expertise and his commitment to advancing good governance, innovation, and sustainable growth within Africa’s gaming and lottery industry. Moustapha comes from a distinguished academic and technical background. After earning a PhD in sciences, he transitioned into software development, where he built a career that seamlessly combined scientific rigour with technological innovation.

He is a well-respected figure in the international gaming industry, having held senior positions in leading companies — including 18 years at Gamesys UK, a London Stock Exchange-listed company later acquired by Bally’s Corporation. Throughout his career, Moustapha has been an integral contributor to the delivery of B2C websites and gaming content across North American, European, and Asian markets. In addition to his expertise with PAM (Player Account Management) platforms and sportsbooks, he has developed in-depth proficiency in casino operations and gaming content. He has led high-performing product and technology teams in fast-paced environments, aligning innovation with business growth and user experience. In addition to operational leadership, he advises regulatory bodies and private-sector clients on compliance, platform design, and digital due diligence. Known for his collaborative approach and strategic mindset, Moustapha consistently delivers impactful, forward-looking solutions that shape the future of gaming in Africa and beyond.
